thoughtwould close my accounts with Yale University. I was very much sur-
prised ts receive the enclosed bill for Spring Term tuition, since far
fron being in residence at Yale during 1947-1948, I have been very busily
cscupled with my duftes here since last September, My thesis was subnitted
last September, and “r. Simpson informed me that I would not be liable to
any further registration, residence, or fees. I am due to be examined on
this dissertation on April 23, but the ora]. examination can hardly be the
basis for the #125 bili. May I sugcest that you monsult Professor E. L.
Tatum, my major professor, for details. Meanwhile, please rectify this

error.
