as soon as possible. We have been going ahead ounite
rapidly with the volume, since the printer is less
busy just now than at any other time of the year; and
at present we are being held back by only a few mann-
scripts from making a final mailing to him. I am in
hopes that these will all come in very soon.

Dr. Brehme, who is editing the volume and pre-
paring the index, is leaving Cold Spring Harbor on
August 15 to take up a new position. Therefore, it
would be very desirable if she could have proof of
the whole volume in time to take care of it before
her departure; and this can be done if all material
goes to the printer very soon.
