Dear Dr. Woodruff,

Since my last letter wnich was a request for streptothricin
£oxr-—my_work_on bacterial~geneties, I have moved from Prof. Tatum's
laboratory at Yale University to the Department of Genetics here
where I am setting up a new laboratory for research in the
genetics of microorganisms. There are several items which are either
prohibitively expensive or impossible to obtain on the open market

which will be essential for my work, and for which I should

like to request a gift from Merck & Co. These are:

Desthiobiotin 1 gm.
Biotin 100 mg.
B,-thiazole 10-100 mg.
B, -pyrimidine 10-100 mg.
Pantoyl-lactone 1 gn.
». Pantoate 1 gm.
pyridoxal 100 mg.
Pyridoxamine 100 mg.

 

Citrulline (do you have this??) 5 gm.
If you are unable to donate any of these items, I should appre-

ciate your suggestions as to possible sources.
