Dear Novick:

I do not think that I can help you very much with your
problem concerning cooperation with the Academy of Sciences
of the U.S.S.R. The only useful advice I can give is as
follows: The Russian Academy likes to deal with organiza-
tions rather than with individuals. Therefow you should
approach them in the name of an appropriaté organization and
preferably through the National Academy of Sciences of which
I assume Lederberg is a member. You should write to Alexander
Topchiev, General Secretary of the Academy of Sciences of the
U.S.5S.R., Leninskg Prospekt, Moscow.

At the moment I am snowed under, trying to get two manu-
scripts ready for printing in the next ten days. When I emerge
I shall write you again.
