Dear Dr. Lederberg:

Thank you for your letter of May 26th. With regard to the questions you
raise, I may say that my feeling is that we ought to make this Volume as self-
contained as possible. In harmony with that idea I would recommend illustrations
of your cytological preparations, as well as a discussion of cytological results

reported by others; and I should favor including a reasonable coverage of the
nethoaét our work.

I have not had estimates from enough of the contributors to the Volume
to get a satisfactory idea of its probable size, but I doubt if it will ZO
over 250 pages; and it may be smaller than that. I should hope that it could
be put on the market for somewhere around $4.00, but of course I cannot anti-
cipate the final result of the publication effort.
