It was good to see you the other day and I hope St. Louis wasn't too fatiguing.
We have tested the following cultures with 10-4M TMG and found the following results
W2242 no detectable enzyme
W2244 no detectable enzyme
W481 about 1/50 enzyme of wild type
W2241 about 1/50 enzyme of wild type
So as you suggested W481 may be a [ . . . ].
I enclose some TMG and I am eager to learn what you find regarding the response of various mutants to TMG as compared with butyl-gal and others. (If you plan to do this.)
