Iam applying for a Lalor Foundation fellowship to support me at Cold
Spring Harbor this summer, and would like to use you as a reference. I
propose, as a project, the development of techniques to distinguish bacteria
that inherit different levels of 4 -galactosidase, and an investigation of the
behavior of this character in genetic recombination. I am using you as an
authority that this is a worthwhile subject of investigation. Could you write

By the way, we have some troubles with strain #W481. It seems induc*ble
by. TMG although it scores negative on EMB.
