Dear Dr. Lederberg:

We are mailing you under separate cover four copies of the "Sym-
posium on Genetic Recombination."

Requests for copies of the Symposium are filled only if the re-
quest includes a statement of the problem the person is working
on and why he needs a copy of the Symposium. In general, we do
not fill postal card requests except when we know people person-
ally. Copies of the Symposium have gone to all subscribers of
the Journal of Celluler and Comparative Physiology and, in ad-
dition, to about 1000 investigators working in the cytological-
genetical field.

We will have a note in "Science" stating that copies of the
Symposium are available to investigators who can establish the
need for it.
