Thanks for the culture and the dope on the chloroacetate
mutants. We will let you know how we come out.

A letter came from Esmond this morning on the samples
which you took to him but I have not had <sime to go over it

yet.

Mike Doudoroff was through here a few days ago and
spent a day with us. It looks at the moment as though we Sn ¢
will be able to get him to participate at a round table at
the S.A.B. meeting and I hope that we can on that basis count
on you presenting some of your recent work from a more
enzymatic angle. I will let you hear more about this in a
few days and get your reactions.
