M.B.L. Woods Hole, Mass. 6th August 1955. Dear Josh, We really are most grateful to you again for your efforts on our behalf. The possibility of a post at Madison is an extremely tempting one, and I hope that something can be arranged. We have seen a bit of the campus at Madison, of course, and visited the algal research unit, all of which left us with a very favourable impression. The prospect of being with phycologists, within consulting distance of microbial geneticists and of enzyme chemists, is a very rosy one. I'll be writing to Dr Skoog direct, but I thought I'd acknowledge your letter of August 4th to let you know of my reaction. Best wishes, Easy. Ralph A. Lewin.
