Dear Gopal:

Thank you very much for message of the 11th (which mst have caught
a flight promptly!) I would indeed have been relieved to have had
your evaluation, but in the long run it did not matter greatly. While
I was still pondering the situation, he accepted another position
here at Madison (with Harry Waisman, in tumor cytology). Having met
him, I would now judge that I would have hot been sorry either way,
but that matters are just as well as they are.

Nevertheless, I am still looking for an appropriate student for the
problem I mentioned (nuclear cytology of fertilization in F. coli) and
hope you will keep this in mind for your other contacts.
