Many thanks for sending me the
Pasteur reference. After you lefé Woods Hole
I was sufficiently intrigued to do a little
browsing on my own, and came up with several
places in Pasteur's worss where the idea of
the "prepared mind" is expressed in one
phrasing or another; it seems to have been
recurrent in his thinking.
