Dear Dr. Lederberg:

I have obtained information from Dr. Fogel about the
Genetics Society meetings, anc am planning to attend.
I also intend to visit the two laboratories that you
mentioned in vour letter some time next week.

Me to the critical illness of my younger brother,
which necessitatéd my assistance at home, I was forced
to severely curtail my time in the laboratory this
term. For this reason, I was unable to manage any
crosses. I have, however, read the literature, and
am famillar with the procedures and techniques em-
ployed.

I am enclosing the signed withholding tax forms.
