Dear Dr. Frasier:

I am returning Miss Schoenman's application. In view of Dean Elvejhea's
letter of the lst (awarding a scholarship as alternate), I did not quite
understand in what respect her application was unduccesful.

At this date, I regret that there are no uncommitted vacancies Among our
lab. space allocations.
