I expect to be visiting Madison next month, probably on, or around, Friday 16th, and I would like very much to be able to see something of your work on bacteria: I have been at Pasadena on a years' visit from Cambridge, England, working on biochemical genetics of Neurospora[?], and I expect that microbiological genetics will be my main pursuit in the future. I was working under Dr. Catcheside[?] at Cambridge, and I hope to get my Ph.D. there this fall.
Could you let me know whether it would be inconvenient for you if I came on the 16th? I would probably be able to manage some other date if that suited you better.
