Dear Harry:
Thank you for your letter of the 10th.  I have been spending all this time trying to straighten out arrangements with Cavalli.  These are now reasonably well settled, and we expect to prepare a joint paper.  Cavalli will be dealing directly with Chain, which should simplify matters.
I am afraid it is still very much an open question whether we shall be in a position to make the trip ourselves.  I did have an informal proffer from NSF, but it hardly began to approach the costs, and I could not accept (as it would have barred someone else).  Best wishes for your own success in this matter.
