Dear Joshua:

I took so many pictures on my trip that I did not notice
that the film you gave me was not the one I had started. Accord-
ing to my recollection, when I gave you the camera it had thirteen
exposures already taken, and so I kept the first thirteen pictures
from the film you gave me. These are returned enclosed.

election to the National Academy, an honor you fully deserve.
