Dear Dr. Lederberg,
It seems a very long time since I last wrote to you from England, but at long last I should like very much to take up your offer of visiting you and your laboratory.
I hope that this letter reaches you before you leave for Japan. If indeed I am right in assuming your intention to attend the meetings there. In any case I do not anticipate in [ . . . ] before around 23rd October, which I hope will find you there in any event.
Could you let me know if this date is convenient, or any other around about this time.
