Dear Josh,

Thank you for your response to our letter
about Dad's 100th birthday. He often talks
about the Institute, and we have on several
occasions asked the library to get material
about it for him.

You asked about his rival for his wife's
hand; it seems it was Peyton Rous.

You wouldn't remember me, but I took my
degree with Dad back in 1940, and then went
to Iowa City to teach and be in charge of
the diagnostic laboratory for nearly 20
years until I married into the Clark family
(I had already been almost a member for years).
There in Iowa City, you came through occasional~
ly to say hello to Roger Porter. Roger was
one of the finest men I've known.
