If you still have the following organisms in stock, I would
appreciate receiving transplants of them:

E. coli K-12 E. coli 58-161
E. coli Y-10 E. coli Y-87
E. coli Y-53

I lost the cultures I had of these organisms during the past year
because of my inactivity in research, At the present time we are
organizing a research project to take advantage of the miclear
stains developed by Dr. H. L. Chance in making a cytogenetic inves~
tigation of various bacteria. One of ‘our planned projects is to
look for some correlation between miclear changes and recombination
in E. coli.

I wish to congratulate you on your recent published compilation of
reprints in microbial genetics. This makes a very handy reference

for both class use and research. I would like to see similar pro-
jects appear in other fields.
