Dear friend:

I am circularizing this to a number of my colleagues who attended the
1946 Cold Spring Harbor Symposium. This is part of preparation of an
autobiographical study:.in particular my first announcement of E. coli
recombination in July at that meeting. (I don’t have the precise date of my
presentation!)

Unfortunately I have almost no documentation apart from the published
symposium, and I am writing to you for any notes, program, agenda or
recollections you may have -- particularly about my presentation. I do recall
an extended debate with Delbruck, Lwoff, and perhaps others -- but few
details.

I would be most grateful to you for any detail you can furnish. Please
forgive me if I have taxed you with this before.
