Enclosed is a breakdown of the FY1989 TSWG Program, as well as a description of the decision making process used to deal with the 50 percent budget cut experienced this year. Mostly through the use of agency matching funds and across the board reductions, TSWG has managed to provide for an ambitious schedule of ongoing projects and new starts, including six from our subgroup. 2. Even though cuts have been sustained, indications are that at least some of the funds can be recovered in FY90. For instance, the Mobile Lab project should resume at full funding to completion in the next FY. This is a pivotal year in which we must demonstrate some concrete results. But, if we do, the program should continue. Encl DREW B. FARENWALD Co-Chairman, CBIRRDS Chief, Technical!
