Personally I was much taken with your argument that a policy of openness should be adopted for BW research and development. Several of the audience indicated their desire to see the ASM initiate efforts in this direction. In fact it may eventually come to light that that is exactly what the Advisory Committee has been trying futilely to do through its reports. If the futility of their efforts and a general approval for efforts to foster openness can be amalgamated, then the ASM may take some action in this direction. I enclose a rough typescript of the meeting and the report Gerry and I are submitting to the ASM News. Because the report must reach Ray Sarber on December 1 I shall mail it to him on November 30. By keeping the report until the last minute we shall be able to correct any inaccuracies before its submission. I'm sorry that this must be so rushed. Sincerely, ~ Alvin J. Clark AJC/1m Enc. (2)
