As I am sure is no news to you, I have just concluded a very satis~
factory agreement with Dean Alway of Stanford University. I will sub-
mit a formal letter of resignation effective next April or next July
through Deans Froker and Bowers after I have received written advice
fron Stanford confirming cour telephone conversations; there can hardly

be any doubt of the followup and I thought you would want this informal
notice meanwhile, ,
