[stamped, Jul 15 1985] Stuyvesant July 8, 1985 Dear Josh, It has been several years since I last wrote to you. How are you? What new accomplishments have the years brought? I am still going strong as I head for fourscore years (I don't believe the calendar, because I don't feel superannuated.) Recently I heard from one of the Stuyvesant Bio Club fellows whom I'm sure you remember: John Jacquez. He was leader of the group that you were assigned to when you joined the club. He is now Prof. of Physiology at U. of Michigan Med School in Ann Arbor and complains of administrative chores that interfere with research time. He is involved in studies of transport through cell membranes among [END PAGE ONE] [BEGIN PAGE TWO] other things. I also just wrote for a reprint of article on "Why Do People Get Fat?," summarized in a recent issue of Science, by one of the men at Rockefeller, Jules Hirsch. I used your name as a reference so don't be surprised if he asks about me. I continue to keep occupied with rewarding volunteer work at the local Science Museum, Art Museum, and the Institute of New Dimensions associated with Palm Beach Junior College. At the latter I teach Calligraphy. I can only excuse the writing here by saying that I'm trying out a new type of pen -- and am not very happy with it. I would be very pleased to hear from you. With all good wishes and warm personal regards, Jerry
