Dear Dr. Levinthal:

Enclosed are two copies of a proposal from James Greeno and me to gain
access to SUMEX. As you will note in reading it, we are already able

to use a small amount of disk space via Anderson's ACT project. However,
we need more disk space than the 50 pages John can spare us, So we are
making a separate application as a separate project.

If the SUMEX-AIM management is willing to allocate the resources we need
through the ACT project without cutting back Anderson's work, this is
agreeable to Greeno and me. If you would like to conduct an independent
review, then please consider the enclosed as submitted for informal comment,
which we will appreciate greatly.
