Dear Professor Lederberg:

Thank you for your letter of 23 July. I have sent out
the supporting materials as you requested. The materials
were packed on the moving van and just became accessible.

I have two postdoctoral students with me who will begin
serious work the end of August. My GT40 made the trip ok
and is operational except I don't have a modem for it.

Incidentally there is already a prospective Congen user
here at UCSC working in marine natural products indentifica-
tion.

I look forward to beginning work in my new environment
and in hearing from the committee on my proposal to SUMEX.
My family and I are all very pleased with our new location
and my new institution.
