iN Princeton University pzpartMENT oF CHEMISTRY PRINCETON, NEW JERSEY 08540 19 June 1975 Professor Joshua Lederberg Department of Genetics Stanford University Stanford, Calif. 94305 Dear Professor Lederberg: Enclosed is an application for SUMEX-AIM use with supporting documents. I have made the proposal reference my existing Resource grant with Langridge because that contains a fuller discussion of the project. Basically I am requesting an allocation of the SUMEX-AIM resource, support of communications costs between UC Santa Cruz including modems, and possibly support of a terminal. I expect to reassemble my research group in Santa Cruz in August and would hope to be able to gain access at that time. This will be my only source of computing for this research. I will be in Europe on a lecture tour from 20 June-7 July including the IUPAC meeting in Jerusalem. However messages can be left for me here ac Princeton. I will then leave Princeton permanently on 23 July for the West Coast to arrive about 8 August. I intend to apply for grants to support this work as soon is I arr vec at UCSC, but it appears that between now and next year when those grants might be awarded I will be without support. A resource related grant will probably be the mechanism, providing this application is approved to provide a bk sis of experience. My address after 23 July will be: Department of Chemistry University of California Santa Cruz, Calif. 95060 Best regards, I look forward to hearing from you. Encl. Compieted Questionnaire Sincerely, Proposal to SUMEX-AIM , Parts of current grant proposals
