Dear Dr. Lederberg:

Can you tell me of any published work dealing
with genetic recombination in meningococci? I have
known of several persons who have attempted such a
study but none who stayed with it very long.

I am preparing a brief review of some of the
recent work on the meningococcus, and would like to
make it up to date as well as correct.

If you know of any such work I shall indeed
appreciate knowing of it. It is a fascinating field
to me.
