Dear Dr. Greanias:

It really was very good of you and Dr. Mahler to take your time to talk
to us a couple of weeks ago about hospital information systems.

My initial expectations were, as you rightly foresaw, rather too optimistic
with respect to the speed with which a medical school organization could
develop its orientation with respect to such systems. We have therefore
decided that we would indeed be well advised, first, to spend considerably
more time in internal discussion of the kinds of ways in which this accom-
modation might take place before even troubling you or any other organization
to spend yourself in further consultation with us. In fact, I think we have
the necessary general expertise fairly readily available, although undoubtedly
there will be a time when we will be very happy to have the advantage of IBM's
wide experience in this area.

I hope to keep in touch with you about our developments from time to time,
and I would be very grateful if you might think of having whatever literature
comes out from the IBM organization bearing on the subject brought to my atten-

tion.
