Dear Dr. Wallin:

We are appreciative of your desire to become a user of the
SUMEX-AIM facility and the opportunity to learn of the
interesting work you are doing in health care delivery in
the field of hypertension.

Our AIM Advisory Committee received your proposal and
considered your request for access at its meetings of May 6
and June 3. You will understand that SUMEX-AIM is chartered
for a specific research mission not for general purpose
computer support of health care applications, although the
merit of these also enters its calculations.

After further review, the executive committee decided that

it could not qualify your application for access to SUMEX-AIM.

This decision does not reflect on the validity or creative

value of your work. We have to allocate our limited resources

to those applications that relate to the development of Artificial
Intelligence for medical research (as indicated in our questionnaire)
Our charter and facilities are not designed to support operational
applications in health care delivery systems.

We would be glad to take advantage of any opportunities to
keep mutually informed of each others work,
