the ISS.

I have in mind the problems we face in this country of msein-
taining support for research in policy sciences, and at the same
time ensuring the visbility of independent criticisn. (I am sure
you are fanilisr with Senator Fulbright's adanant position; mk and
there are current reports of committees of the National Acsdeny of
®ciences, and so on, talking all around the subject.

The ISS is, I gather, privately financed. Couldyou give me
more details about the funding of the institute, and any other in-
formation that might be useful for a general discussion of our
problem? Have you been consulted about this by Senator Harris!
committee or similor sources?

The substonce of the IS3' work is also of very great interest
to me, and I would appreciate being on your malling list to receive
Jnnouncements of its reports, or any other material on peace research

that micht be useful for my own education or thet of any readers my
