Dear Mr. Gerras:

Thank you for your communication of February 7. Ingofar as
State Senator Thaler and U.S. Senator Long have already

been alerted to your story I would prefer to see the results of
their inquiry on the record before making any comment on
limited information. I must say that the idea of a surprise
visit from State authorities does not strike me as the most
sober or productive way to conduct an inquiry into a situation
where the procedures and documentation of consent were the
central ifasues.

I appreciate your interest in my column. If you would care to
put me on the mailing list for your newsletter - not that I
can guarant¢ to read it from top to bottom - I might apprectate
the chance to find some other more immediately usable items.
