Dear Mr. Minogue,

I have been gratified to find the $1000/rem guideline being adopted as
an efficacious management tool in dealing with the risk economics of
radiation exposure. The guideline value is appropriately more conservative
than my own crude calculations of an appropriate monetary conversion factor,
which I have published some years ago and which I might hope have been a
constructive contribution to practice in this area.

What this separate note is about is to ask you for references to the
rule-making history of this proposed guideline as I have not been able to
track it except via the BEIR report. If there have been later developments
on the same subject, I would be most interested to hear of them.
