H Breitrose Dear Henry -- [stamped, JUL 2 1969] I will shortly send you some of the later articles in this TV serial that are on their way through the press. I think they will narrow the zone of our disagreement, if indeed there is any at all. Certainly I did not minimize the effect of TV on children. I questioned whether it needed any further research, and indeed whether this was really possible if scientific rigor were the aim. But I suppose some more window dressing will be needed to spark effective action. (I was afraid that the NIMH Committee might get hung up on whether adverse effects could be rigorously proven -- cf. cigarettes) J.
