I was quite interested to read in a local newspaper a short
article mentioning the work you have done recently on "the regulation of
oxygen--affinity of red cells by an intermediate product of sugar meta-
bolism, diphosphoglycerate."

I wonder whether you could send me as soon as possible reprints
of your work and of your associates in this field. These findings are
of great interest to me in view of my current research in environmental
toxicology, I am interested in the joint effectiof carbon monoxide
and other air pollutants (ozone, etc.) on laboratory animals and I
believe that some of your findings may have some influence on my work,

Your prompt attention to this matter would be appreciated,
In case you have some free time this summer, I would be glad to travel
to New York in order to discuss your work with you,
