Dear Dr. Weiner,

During your visit you expressed an interest in the documentation
of the origins of the planetary quarantine program.

There is an official NASA history that has been published as NASA
SP-4902,"The Planetary Quarantine Program, Origins and Achievements,1956-
1973". I think you will find this an informative and accurate official
history. .

I have also gone through my own files to find appropriate archives
that might relate to some of the earlier stages and I am glad to be able
to send you the enclosed material, all of which is duplicate and need not
be returned. I have not, in general, gone later than 1959 since from that
point on I am sure that you will find that the files of the Space Science
Board at the National Academy of Sciences are quite comprehensive.
