9/30/60 --VL Dear George -- (Derbyshire) Thank you for the Kriss book reviews. This looks like a useful job of work in the context where the Russians have excelled -- massive descriptive programs. The reviews are good critiques, as well as I can judge without reading the original. This strikes me as a work that might be of deep interest to oceanographers. I am sure that Ewing and ZoBell would be grateful for copies of the condensed translation, and you might consult them and Lloyd on the advisability of recommending this for full translation and publication. Note: 26 mg/m3 of bacteria on the average. This is about 100 bugs per drop. Global figures are hard to find. J.
