About indexes of your own involvement in clinical
versus other forms of research (and this is perhaps a
silly perspective altogether) I think the question might
be put: how many bed days a year in a clinical research
center would be required for and justified by your cur-
rent pattern of research activity, or prospectively if
it were to be optimally matched to your own intrinsic
interests and the scientific challenges of the field?
