December 30, 1953 Dear Mr, Bailey: I have your letter of the 30th; BE€22 is tucked away in lyophil, as we have no current use for it, but I thought the phage itself (PLT22), which I had in the frig’! would do at least as well and I could get it to you much sooner. You should have no trouble growing this on any of a varisty of group B or D strains, as des~ cribed, though there will be of course considerable strain specificity. If you have any particular need for LT22, or,more likely, for TM2, just drop me a postcard. Best wishes for the season, and in your transduction experiments, and please do let me know how they go off. Yours sincerely. P.S. I am entertaining applications for research assistantahips from candidates who would be interested in pursuing studies on Salmonella genetics in this Joshua Lederberg laboratory. I would be especially interested Associate Professor of Genetics in applicants who have already had some experience in Salmohella serology. I appreciate you are committed yourself, b ° ut the word if you know of a likely prospect. w ’ you might pass
