new post, enjoying New York, yet still with great affection
for California.

I appreciate your further thoughts on the recombinant DNA
issue and trust the new regulations are satisfactory to the
scientific community while still safeguarding the health
and safety of the public. Indeed, this was a tough matter

to wrestle with, and I hope time proves a good decision was
made.
