Although I have not heard anything about it that is not the reason I am writing but merely to send you a copy of a letter that I received from the Rockefeller University Press which is, in an rather interesting way, related to the paper that I submitted, I proposed to write a book to be published by the Rockefeller Press on the general model of the cell cycle. As you can see from the attached letter the reviews of some of my ideas are quite favorable, but one reviewer said that I should publish a “pithy, concise article" because the reviewer thought that "the author's philosophic outlook is correct." That is exactly what I have tried to do in the paper that I submitted to you. And what is most interesting is that the reviewer described the problem as philosophical. That is quite perceptive because there is quite a lot of deep analysis which is requined here and I hope that the paper that I submitted to you for publication can lead to that analysis and to a better understanding of cell growth. I hope that you and the reviewers of the paper can see the merit of the paper on c-myc and the continuum model of the cell cycle in these terms. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely,
