Dear Josh,

I have not given up the idea of working with you on the GC/MS
project that we discussed two years ago. The program that we submitted
tothe C.N.R. at that time was sort of approved but not supported for the
lack of funds. It. seems that the C.N.R. has now some money for coopera
tive projects bet ween Italy and other countries. Incidentally, this time it
appears that there is no need for a financial support from the count erpart.

If you think that the project is still feasible, please let me know so that I

may send you the forms to sign. Unless you have any better suggestion, I

am still going to use the program that we wrote t ogether and the only t hing
that I need is alist of papers in the field that your Department has published.

I hope that all of you are well and we look forward to seeing you
and Margaret during one of your, I imagine, frequent "blitz" trips to Europe.
