[stamped, MAY 8 1969] Dear Dave -- I don't think the Times magazine will be happy short of another muckraking job like Fleming did in the Atlantic. What you did write was an excellent synthesis; and what Lewtas [?] now asks would amount to putting words into my mouth. So, I suggest either of two courses: your own broad survey of new biology placing no special emphasis on me; or, drop the Times magazine altogether and recast the piece for a more serious magazine like Fortune or Horizon or perhaps even the New Yorker or S/R.
