Dear Dr. Lederberg:

Many thanks for your letter of December 6th.
We shall try to isolate a penicillin resistant mutant
in one of the auxotroph lines that you mention. As soon
as we have it, we shall send it to you. We would
certainly like to take advantage of your offer to try
to put it into a heterozygote and test for possible

dominance.
