As I now recall that you met Ed at Utrecht, may I focus my questions to you on that interval (1936-37).
Do you recall
1) What Ed worked on at that time? (I have not found any publication)
2) How he happened to choose that lab?
3) What you can recall of his intellectual outlook at that time?
4) How he was recruited from there to Stanford?
Is there an "intimate history" of biotin in print?
