It is requested that I be transferred to the Navy V-18 Unit, Columbia University, New York, N.Y. ,forvthe semester beginning 1 Marsh 1944. 2. I am stationed at the USHH, St Albans, LI, in “temporary duty under instruction” by virtue of orders effective 3 Nov. 1943. 3. I am o member of the V-12 program a8 a pre-Medical Student. I have com pleted five (5) semesters of college work, all at Columbia College. Of these five semesters, three were completed as a civilian, one as af Reservist on inactive duty in class V-1, and one as A.S. V-18 on active duty. I have been accepted to the College of Physioians and Surgeons, Columbia University School of Medicine for the class of October 1944, and have submitted through the Liaison Offiver, Navy V-12 Unit, Columbia University, an application to be assigned there at that teme for my Medical Training. 4. The Registrar of Columbia University has informed me that my work, particu- larly in English, may not have been in sufficient quentity to satisfy the requirements of the College of Physicians and Surgeons, but that a final opinion depends on the action of the Director,’ ualifying Certificates ,State Department of Hducation,New York. 5. Your consideration is reapectfully tagheeded, and your attention invited to the Sassitbattgil requirements oan be filled without doubt in another semester of sollege work, ami that valuable preparation, above the minimal level would be made tpward medical studies.
