Dear Dr. Lederberg:

I called you some time ago leaving word that the group with the
patients in Cologne were quire interested in using the Shope on the
patients with argininemia. The subsequent delay has been Carbide, AEC
and NIH clearance and the fact that my passport had run out. I just
heard from them again today and we have set up a meeting Jan. 16. The
test should begin shortly after that. I have already, sometime ago,
sent purified virus to Dr. van Sande in Antwerpen who had cells from
the kids in culture. We should know soon how this comes out.

Did you see the last (Dec. 12) issue of Seience. It looks
like LSD has gone by the board - it will never compete with PCPA!
The Pill became operational just in time!
