Dear Dr. Lederberg:

Straightaway I wish to extend the heartfelt thanks of the Center for Reproductive Sciences faculty
and staff to you for your work on our Advisory Board. We all appreciate your time and effort very, very
much. Enclosed with this letter are the comments on the presentations and the Board’s discussions from
the meeting on February 10, 1995 from Drs. Barber, Segal and Spies.

Changes are occurring in the Center and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology with the
appointment of Dr. Rogerio Lobo as Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has arranged for the
incorporation of the Center for Reproductive Sciences and the International Institute for the Study of
Human Reproduction into his Department and has assumed Directorship of these units. Presumably this
will mean changes in research directions which are yet to be defined. Hopefully these will continue the
commitment to outstanding research in basic reproductive sciences which has characterized the Center
and the IISHR for many years.

Once again, sincere gratitude to you from the faculty and my personal thanks for the opportunity
to spend many rewarding intellectual hours with you.
