Beadle Division of Biological Sciences California Institute of Technology Pasadena, California Dear Beets: We have just turned up a few strains which we are anxious to test for ‘genetic identity with some that you people have reported. I wonder if it would be possible to get these for this purpose? I can assure you that nothing will be published on these strains until checking back with you. We have just found an adenine requiring strain in methylcholanthrene treated material which shows sex~linkage. We would like to test this against adenineless 35293, which is in. linkage group 1. The other two strains which we would like to have checked is tryptgghaneless, which apparently is similar biochemically to you € 983,) and a his— tidineless, ead: We are anxious to know if WH identical With that reported by Lein et al. We would appreciate the opportunity of carrying out these tests. Thanks for your letter regarding the symposium meeting. I shall be looking forward to further information. me v C E. L.
